I was testing the Raspberry Pi camera with Motion detection software (guide can be found here). It is particularly useful to allow Pi Camera to function as a surveillance camera and perform actions when motion has been detected. Live stream can be accessed online and control & configuration can be done through internet as well.
However for the application of this project (RaspiCare?), the motion detection is not as useful because in a busy hospital ward, motion is detected every now and then.
My idea for the application of Pi Camera in this project is to let the nurse to monitor the condition of the ward at anytime. The camera can be controlled and rotated (up to 180 degree) accordingly. This can be done through the web interface.
There is another software which can recognize face – OpenCV, which I am going to try next. 😀
